Our posistion on Socialism

Socialist ideals are ever present in todays’ culture. So what is Socialism?

While it takes many forms, it is, at its base, a desire to replace the free market with some form of centralized control.

The government assumes control of most means of production and natural resources, and everyone in the country is entitled to an equitable share according to their contribution to society.

Sounds nice, right? But history reveals the real truth behind the relinquishment of liberty, and it is heart breaking.

The loss of individuality for the common good will eventually translate into oppression of the many by a few. Just ask the citizens of China, North Korea, and Russia how nice their governments are.

So why are the young open to the shift from capitalism (and democracy) to socialism?

For one, it’s teachings permeate nearly every aspect of our government-run public schools.

Curriculum relating to our Christian heritage and core beliefs is being erased. And children are being desensitized to all aspects of evil in the name of inclusiveness.

They are being fed the lie that big government will benefit us all. But unless God is at the helm, corruption will follow.

Adults are being led astray too. Climate change plays a big role in deceiving many who are asked to consider the greater good. Soon, small businesses may be forced to close their doors due to stringent regulatory controls.

This is just one of many foreseeable outcomes of abdicating power to godless men.

In the end, we know that there will come a man that promises a solution to the world’s problems. Americans, with their history of individualism and meritocracy, were once unlikely to follow such a man. But times have changed.

Many are increasingly open to giving up their individual rights and fall in line with the dictates of others. To own less, work less, and trust in God less.

So, what does the Bible say? Is there a warning in Scripture? Yes.

The Lord is our ruler:

Psalm 22:28 “For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations.”

Daniel 4:17 “The Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind, and bestows it on whom He wishes and sets over it the lowliest of men”

Zachariah 14:9 “And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one.”

Psalm 146:3 “Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.”

Work not government handouts:

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.”

2 Thessalonians 3:10 “For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."

Proverbs 13:4 “The sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.”

Psalm 128:2 “You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.”

Ownership:

Ecclesiastes 5:18-20 “Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him-for this is his lot. Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work-this is a gift of God.”

Deuteronomy 19:14 “You shall not move your neighbor's landmark, which the men of old have set, in the inheritance that you will hold in the land that the Lord your God is giving you to possess.

Paving the way for the beast:

Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly placer,”

Revelation 13:1-9 “ The dragon[a] stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. 3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast. 4 People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it? The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months. 6 It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7 It was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world. If anyone has an ear, let him hear.”
